With a peculiar mix between tradition and modernity, the cultural sites and museums of the Rignac countryside will show you the rural life of yesterday and today!
-Bournazel :
You can discover the village of Bournazel through ancient time’s storytelling in its special relation with French History! You will find here and there traces of a past that was sumptuous for some (with very fancy houses from the sixteenth an seventeenth centuries), and more humble for others, for instance when farmers and poorest people were victims of atrocious events. Those people turned themselves to the religious belief to survive (Notre Dame du Frayse) before turning against their master by burning the castle during the French Revolution.

Belcastel :
Belcastel is undeniably one of the most beautiful villages of the region. Each piece of stone of this part of the Aveyron is telling a story: the story of a thousand-years old village which went through several events in order to become (once more) this heavenly site on the banks of the River Aveyron.
Those stories can be related to you during the guided visits organised by Belcastel tourist office. Our guide will tell you all about it and show you the must-see places in this village during this tour that lasts for about one hour.
You can also combine the visit of those sites (the church, the medieval bridge, the cobbled stoned streets,...) with the Old Trades Museum (which is located inside the former Blacksmith workshop). It will give you the occasion to discover this museum where you'll get to know all the craftworks from former generations, such as the Blacksmith, the shoe maker, the fisherman,...
